CASE STUDIES

Fairview High School

Over four days, Fairview High School students prepared for and ran a live, student-run eSports tournament hosted by Ethlete Lab Academy — rotating through the operational roles behind live event production and gaining insight into the business models driving the esports industry.

This program showed students how esports roles connect to careers in business, technology, and media, and included a campus visit to Cleveland State University, where students met CSU's varsity esports coach to learn about collegiate pathways.

"This program delivered exceptional educational and practical value. Mike Newton facilitates this experience with the utmost knowledge, structure, and professionalism. I highly recommend this program to other educational institutions and student groups."

ELA's Esports Junior Experience

Mastery School of Hawken

Hawken's Entrepreneurial Studies class partnered with Ethlete Lab Academy on a real business project, analyzing the company and its programs firsthand. Students were impressed by the gaming lounge, the quality of the equipment, and the range of programs — and their research validated the need for more "third spaces" where teenagers can connect, socialize, and learn.

"ELA provides value across the spectrum by meeting diverse needs of kids, parents, educational partners, and the broader community. With his deep experience and years coaching professionally, Mike has poured his passion into ELA and built a safe, welcoming space that platforms gaming as a way to learn STEM, socialize, compete, collaborate, and excel."

Elizabeth Pryor, Director of Entrepreneurial Studies, Mastery School of Hawken
